HORA eTec expands electrical portfolio with aluminum machined parts

HORA eTec is expanding its machining parts portfolio just in time for the Hannover Messe. With the new aluminum terminal blocks, the system supplier for electrical engineering is supplementing its traditional range of terminal blocks made of brass alloys. The company focuses on customer-specific solutions for feeder and distribution terminals as well as N/PE busbars. In addition, HORA eTec expands its component portfolio with phase rails.

“With the introduction of the aluminum terminal blocks, we have expanded our extensive machining know-how with an alloy that is new to us”, says Dirk Niestrat, Managing Director of HORA eTec. HORA eTec manufactures power feed terminals (Lugs) for circuit-breakers, distribution terminals and N/PE busbars, for example, according to customer-specific requirements.

The background for the decision to expand the service portfolio is the increasing internationalization of HORA eTec. With the expansion of its sales activities, in particular on the American market, the system supplier increasingly focused on aluminum as a material. Since 2017, the company has transferred its decades of know-how in brass machining to the processing of aluminum. “Today, we are able to process aluminum on our existing machine concepts with a high degree of process reliability”, says Niestrat.

Aluminum terminal blocks for electrical engineering
HORA eTec processes aluminum alloys of the 6000 series commonly used on the market. These AlMgSi alloys are characterized by high strength and good electrical thermal conductivity. In addition, they have good mechanical properties, are corrosion-resistant and easy to form. This makes them particularly suitable for use in electrical engineering applications.

While standard connection parts are manufactured in a production joint venture with an experienced Indian aluminum producer, HORA eTec manufactures complex parts in Germany. The system provider monitors the entire process chain from the purchase of raw materials through mechanical processing to surface treatment.

Phase rails: best cost products certified according to relevant standards
The focus of the trade fair appearance at the Hannover Messe will also be on the new phase track portfolio. HORA eTec offers a wide range of single- to four-phase variants in different lengths – and all this at best cost conditions. Both pin and fork versions are available. Phase rails ensure a safe and fast connection of circuit-breakers, residual current circuit-breakers and other installation devices.

All phase rails are certified according to current national and international standards. Accessories such as end caps and power terminals are also included in the company’s product range. Other versions with additional step sizes, other cross-sections, special versions or combinations are available on request.
